Start-to-finish victory for Alice Hubackova from the Czech Republic
The Czech rider Alice Hubackova secured victory in the 1st Children's competition in the saddle of the Vitalis son Versailles.
It was still quite early on Saturday morning when young Czech rider Alice Hubackova and her Hanoverian-bred Vitalis offspring Versailles were the first to enter the arena in the Christmas-decorated Albert-Vahle-Arena. And she did so with a good feeling: "My horse felt great during the warm-up," said the 14-year-old, looking back on the moment before the warm-up. "But I didn't have high hopes of winning here today. We just wanted to do our best and put the things we worked on in training into practice in the test." No sooner said than done! With a harmonious and technically very accomplished test, which the jury rewarded with 78.675 percent, the pair conjured up a mark in the Aachen sand that none of the following pairs were able to beat. "I am so grateful and proud of this young horse," said the up-and-coming rider immediately after the prize-giving ceremony, delighted with the performance of her just seven-year-old sport partner. "I am so happy."
The closest to the Czech pair was the European Team Champion Britt Kikkert-van der Linde from the Netherlands, who scored 78.075 percent in the saddle of her 10-year-old stallion Jerenzo Texel. Third place and a new personal best (78.00%) went to the Italian rider Matilde Manzato and her Oldenburg gelding Fine Boy.
