Prize of Family Hans-Peter Simons

Dutch rider Yasmin Westerink triumphs with a new personal best

Yasmin Westerink was beaming all over her face. The 18-year-old Dutch rider triumphed with her Amphitryon OLD in the 1st Young Riders class.

The perfect preparation was followed by an all-round successful performance in the arena. As a member of the current CHIO Aachen CAMPUS Programme of Excellence, Yasmin Westerink had prepared intensively with Head Coach Isabell Werth in the run-up to the Aachen Dressage Youngstars for her performances in the Christmas-decorated Albert-Vahle-Halle. With great success! The 18-year-old and her elegant black gelding Amphitryon OLD completed the required movements in a confident and expressive manner and topped the 20-strong field with a new personal best of 70.686 percent. “I'm so grateful and happy,” beamed the young Dutch rider immediately after the prize giving ceremony, as she repeatedly patted her 12-year-old gelding on the neck in gratitude. “My horse gave me such a great feeling today. We were able to implement the subtleties we worked on in training with Isabell Werth very well today.” Second place in the Prize of Family Hans-Peter Simons was secured by the reigning German Junior Champion Alix von Borries with her mare Feingefühl (70.588%), who were also part of the winning team at the European Junior Championships last summer. Third place also went to Germany with Celestine Kindler and the 15-year-old Quaterback son Quotenkönig (70.196 %).

Lukasz Walter (Chief Judge) and Frank Kemperman (Vice President of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein) congratulate the winner.
